Pricing Added for Proof Large Cents
Greysheet and CPG now offer values for proof large cents struck between 1821-1857.

This 1842 large cent graded NGC Proof 65 RD sold for $73,438 at Heritage Auctions in May 2015.
One of the very few US coin series we had not offered pricing for was the Proof Large cent series. That omission has now been filled and we now have pricing for nearly all issues with known examples. Proof large cents are a really fascinating niche collectible in numismatics. Examples of coins struck with proof surfaces are truly rare yet clearly undervalued by the market. Wholesale values start around $3,500 for Proof 63 examples and can range to values over $60,000 for the rarest issues. The real premiums occur in auction for coins with fully-red surfaces. These are super-rare and highly coveted. Click here to research pricing for proof large cents.
